The chandelier is inspired by the ornamentation of mass production and counterfeit. Comprised of modern day LED light components, the entire kit of part used to power the lights are suspended akin to the silhouette of a classic chandelier. Emitting LED pixels replace the once used precious stones to create illumination, blurring the boundaries between luxury and mass market. A three-sided polygonal scrolling LED screen beams words from the Shan Zhai ideology – materialising a renewed paradox between counterfeit and authenticity.
